Many people who are new to network marketing come from a different model.Being employed.
They go to work and get compensated. They trade time for money. And the amount of money they receive depends on their education, their experience, how long they’ve been with this employer and who they know. And funnily enough, it hardly ever ties into performance.
Some people are busy all day pushing pencils. And others are working hard 80 hours a week. And both of these people will get a 3% raise next year. You turn up – you get compensated.
Now this is NOT the case in network marketing. Especially when you first start out. You need to put in some hard work, and the more you persist, the more you will get compensated – over and over and over again!
Eventually when you’ve built a large enough team, you’ll be compensated whether you show up or not. Can you image this happening having a job?
Many people new to this industry feel they should receive compensation for the hours they put in. And they will, but they don’t know when and they don’t know how much – which makes it hard for them to persist, and is often a reason for them to quit.
They lose sight of the fact that in our industry, you at least have the POSSIBILITY of achieving FREEDOM. The possibility of retiring your spouse, you quitting your job.
In the other reality, you don’t and you never will. That’s not going to happen.
Unsuccessful people stare at their circumstances and their results.
SUCCESSFUL people look at their goals. How am I going to get there – let me keep progressing to my goals.
So if you’re ever questioning your sanity and persistence, think of what the alternative is.
The alternative of NEVER being free. You see people at the grocery store, 80 years old, bagging groceries. They didn’t make the right choices. They stuck to their reality of the world. It wasn’t their goal.
So next time you’re questioning – should I proceed, should I persist –just think for yourself “what are the alternatives” – and that is the KEY to success in Network Marketing.
